Do you have classes for beginners?Yes there are beginners classes during the week. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Do you have changing facilities?Yes we have a small mixed changing room which you are welcome to use. There are toilet facilities but no shower.

How many times a week should I do Pilates?The answer to this question depends on what kind of results you want. If you are looking to reduce low back pain, this can be achieved in 1 session, you can also relieve stress at the end of 1 session. If, however, you want to improve performance during a run, prevent injury or get back into pre-baby shape, you will need to commit to Pilates 2-3 times a week. This can be achieved by attending class and also doing some exercises at home.

Do I need to bring a mat?All equipment is provided for you so you don’t need to bring anything. You may however, wish to bring a bottle of water with you.

Are your Pilates classes suitable for men?Absolutely! Our Pilates classes are suitable for all ages, abilities, and genders. Many men find Pilates exercises both challenging and rewarding, and they recognise the numerous benefits it offers.

What if I've never done Pilates before?If you're new to Pilates, don't worry! We offer a complimentary introductory session for all new clients. During this session, we will discuss any concerns you may have and ensure that our classes are suitable for you.

How does Pilates differ from other exercise?Pilates is a non-aerobic, low impact activity aimed at creating length in muscles and stability of the core which helps with posture and balance. It differs from Yoga in that Pilates involves long flowing movements rather than the more static poses of Yoga. The breathing also differs between the two forms of exercise, Pilates using the breath to encourage stability during the exercises.

What should I wear?It is best to wear loose comfortable clothing (t-shirt and tracksuit bottoms/leggings) and warm socks.

Do you offer one to one sessions?Flex Pilates offers one to one sessions which are bookable in advance. The session lasts an hour and in that time the teacher will assess your posture, discuss your goals and also identify any existing pathology or condition which may require specific exercises. You will also be given a home exercise programme to follow to complement any work done within the session.

If I miss a class do I get a refund?Our clients pay for membership packages and there are Unlimited and Limited options. These will be explained in detail when you attend your first session with us. If you fall ill long term or require surgery and cannot attend classes for an extended period of time, your membership will be suspended at the discretion of the Studio Manager.

How quickly will I see a difference?"In 10 sessions you will feel the difference, in 20 you will see the difference and in 30 you will have a whole new body" Joseph Pilates.

Where are your Pilates classes held?All our Pilates classes are held in our beautiful, purpose-built studio located at 321-323 Middlewood Road, Hillsborough, Sheffield, S6 1TH (opposite Asda).

Do I need to book onto a class?We use Go Team Up for the payments and bookings of classes and we will send you a link to your own account where you can manage your own bookings and memberships. It is your responsibility to book classes and also cancel sessions you are not intending to use so another client may be able to take your place.
