Laura Hewitt

Laura Hewitt Pilates Instructor at Flex Pilates and Physiotherapy Hillsborough Sheffield S6

Laura is a Certified APPI Pilates Instructor, as well as a Senior Physiotherapist. Laura works in private practice within the area of Women’s Health at a clinic within Sheffield. Laura has worked as a Physiotherapist for over 16 years and have worked within a variety of settings, and clinical areas including Women’s Health, Paediatrics, Neurology, Scoliosis Specialist, Amputee rehab and Community.

 

Laura has worked both in the NHS and in Private healthcare, as well as in a variety of locations including Scotland, New Zealand and around South Yorkshire.

 

Laura's love for Pilates has developed throughout her career, as well as personally helping her to heal, rebuild and regain strength following the

birth of her own 3 children.

 

Laura commenced her formal training with the APPI in 2014 and gained her full certification as a Pilates instructor in 2017. Laura has been an instructor at the Flex studio since 2018

Laura has continued to expand her pilates teaching skills by completing Ante and Post natal Pilates training, as well as Pilates for Scoliosis courses through the APPI.

 

Laura loves using all the different equipment, and being creative with the way she teaches each week. No class is ever the same and ensuring exercises are bespoke and modified for all attending her classes.


Laura is married to Steve and they have 3 school aged children. They love the outdoors and visiting extended families in both Scotland and Northern Ireland, as well as valuing spending time with their Church family in Sheffield. Prior to having children Laura played hockey, netball and badminton competitively, but now prefers to use her free time to run, and regularly parkrun, including completing the percy pud on a number of occasions and the Sheffield Half marathon once.

 

Laura loves to travel and along with her husband spent two years living and working in New Zealand prior to moving to Sheffield in 2011. In New Zealand they loved exploring and adventuring through activities including snowboarding, hiking, scuba diving and running – they also did a sky dive and bungee jump!
